There are a number of awareness events that are celebrated in the month of September.

HUNGER Action Month - September is Hunger Action Month to raise awareness of hunger in the United States and to take action to combat poverty, inequity, and injustice so we can end hunger for good.

SUICIDE PREVENTION Awareness Month - A time to acknowledge those affected by suicide, raise awareness, and connect individuals with suicidal thoughts to treatment services. It is to emphasize the importance of primary prevention against self-harm. Primary prevention focuses on developing connectedness amongst peers, as well as strengthening individual social, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.

PATRIOT DAY aka 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, is observed annually on September 11 to honor the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the first responders who died in the attacks. The day also aims to transform the anniversary of 9/11 from a day of tragedy into a day of doing good.
